White Dog Music is a music service provider offering lessons across multiple instruments. My approach enables me to offer a number of different teaching options including; visiting peripetic tuition and a fully integrated "school within school" model.

 

Many schools offer visiting music tuition, and having worked extensively for numerous music service providers over a 20 year career I have seen this approach deliver mixed results. At it's best it can deliver excellent results but in my experience and all too often student progress can be hampered by many factors including; inconsistency and a lack of focus. Due to my background and skill as a multi-instrumentalist I am a one stop shop for tuition and am personally available at every stage of the process. This means that you do not need to rely on different tutors for different instruments or communicating with different points of contact. This approach also means that I am able to focus on the specific needs of your school and students. Many service providers deal with hundreds, if not thousands of schools across the UK, I believe that my quality over quantity approach provides the highest quality tuition to students and unparalleled value to the school.

Investing in the schools that I work with is key to building long term successful relationships, ensuring fair and mutually invested partnerships and long term success. White Dog Music work with schools in every regard, including ensuring fair inclusive pricing so that every student has the opportunity to access music lessons. No student should be priced out of learning. During my time in education I have thought extensively about improvements that could be made in the delivery of third party music education in schools, I call this the 'school within school' model. It was clear to me that the closer the relationship between service provider and school, the higher the quality of education we can deliver, and value we can offer. Many schools opt for service providers that visit school once weekly and provide band based performance sessions, these sessions can help with confidence but often don't include musical or instrumental learning. White Dog Music students undertake music and instrumental lessons and carry this forward into band performance sessions. Students don't just perform, they perform what they have learned. This joined up approach means that students are able to quickly demonstrate their improvements.

At The Charles Kingsley's School I funded and equiped a bespoke music room, acommodating classes of three per instrument, and up to 12 students per band sessions. This integrated model allows me to be part of the fabric of the school, understanding it's culture and incorporating it's values during lesson delivery, whilst enabling the school to benefit financially by means of room rental. The school also retains all other advantages as White Dog Music deals directly with parents for payment, the school undertakes no additional administration. Furthermore, we provide our services without any additional financial cost to the school.
